TOPIC: BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF MEN WITH DIVINE ENCOUNTER
Scripture: Genesis 17: 1. And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! Divine encounter is a pathway to the blessing. That has been our focus of discussion for some few days now.
Today, we shall look at few examples of men who had such encounter.
Examples of men that had Divine encounter:
1. Abraham (Gen.15:5, 17:1-22, 18:1- 18): Abraham was a man that had several encounters in the Bible! It was after one of such encounters that Abraham built an altar to the Lord:
Genesis 12: 7. And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
He also went further to build another altar in Bethel (Gen 12:8)! It was at the site of the altar in Bethel that his grand son Jacob also had his own encounter (Gen.28:11-22).
Now when it seemed Abraham was getting old and he was gradually losing faith, a fresh encounter was necessary to revalidate the earlier one(Gen.17;1).
Beloved, in our journey of faith divine encounters must be frequent and continuous, otherwise the battles of life might take us far away from God.
Has God promised you anything and nothing seems to be happening yet?
Please don’t give up your faith just one more encounter will solidify your faith and the blessing God has promised you will certainly come through.
2. Isaac: (Gen.26;2-6, 28-30): Isaac, the son of Abraham also had his own encounter with God. In the first encounter, God began to give him direction for life(Gen 26;2).
Beloved, many of us have embarked on wrong journeys simply because of lack of direction. We settle in wrong location, marry the wrong spouse, do the wrong business, attend the wrong church all because of lack of direction!
One divine encounter is enough to cure the bundles of confusion in your mind. Direction are the highway to your blessing! And I pray the encounter that carries your direction, may you experience it this day in the name of Jesus.
The second instance where Isaac had an encounter was at the reception of the Abrahamic blessing, for the Bible said:
Genesis 26: 24. And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham’s sake.
Your connection determines the blessing you enjoy.
3. Jacob(Gen.28:11-22, 31:10-13): Jacob also had his own encounter, first at Bethel where the awareness of God came alive in him and he vowed to pay his tithe.
Beloved we can see from the life of Jacob that tithing is a matter of personal encounter. You can’t encounter this God that blesses and you find it difficult to pay your tithe! Tithing is a gateway to your blessing! And if you find it difficult to pay your tithe then you need fresh encounter.
The second occasion was also an occasion of receiving direction:
Genesis 31: 10. And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were ringstraked, speckled, and grisled.
Although the encounter came by dream, yet Jacob was smart enough to receive direction into the science of genetics and with it recovered what Laban had stolen from him.
Beloved one revelation from God is enough for you to recover your 20years of losses and cheating! But such revelation often come via divine encounter!
Remember this; Heaven is real and hell is real! The decision to spend eternity with God is best made now! And it begins by being born again. Give your heart to Jesus if you haven’t done so!
– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Father, help me to me sensitive to your direction for my life in the name of Jesus.
– I declare an end has come to every confusion in your life in the name of Jesus.
– That encounter you need to solidify your faith and give you the blessing, receive it now in the name of Jesus.
From your brother Alex
God bless you.
