Professionally called Beyoncé, Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born on September 4, 1981 in Houston, Texas to a middle class social family. She began her career at a very tender age in Houston, where she was born and bred. She started by performing in different singing and dancing competition which at this time, she aced all; she was able to gain people’s love and affection with her charming dancing and singing dexterity. With the support and influence of her parents, she was able to explore her talent and make good out of it. During the early stage of her career, she formed a group called Destiny’s child to enhance her career. This group was managed by her parents, her father was the manager and her mother designed the alluring costume for the group. Beyoncé was the lead vocalist of this group, having her cousin, Kelly Rowland and two classmates as her co-singers. It was an all-female singing group. They released several hit singles that took them to the world; songs like “jumpin jumpin”, “bootylicious”, “masty girls”, “independent women”, “happy face” and “apple pie a la mode”. These songs shook the town during this period.
In 1998, the group, Destiny’s Child, released their group first self-titled album, Destiny’s Child, produced by Wyclef Jean and Jermaine Dupri. This album got the heart of the populace; it was a huge success, though, in small capacity but several track held top positions in different ranking.
The group was becoming the choice of people, with Beyoncé taking a lead role in the group, they stole several shows with their sonorous R&B genre of music.
In 1999, the group released their second album, titled “The writing on the wall”. In this album, two hit songs were recorded therein, “bills, bills, bills” and “say my name”; these songs got her two Grammy awards in 2001, best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocal and best R&B song respectively, the latter was specifically for the songwriter, Beyoncé.
With lots of fans across the world and hit singles, Destiny’s Child continued to put their shoulder to the wheel to gain more fame and have a successful music career.
In 2001, destiny’s child dropped another album “survivor”. This album was incredibly successful; it topped the American billboard 200 and R&B albums, took up the Canadian album chart and generated an immense success for the group at large.
This album got the group their second Grammy award for best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocal. The group was waxing stronger in success during this period with millions of album copies sold and Grammy awards in their cart. In 2004, before the Destiny’s child eventually disintegrated, they released their last album, Destiny fulfilled; one of the songs in this album “lost my breath” reached the top 10 billboard album single chart.
After the departure from the group, Beyoncé began her solo career; she was on the top of her game as she dazzled the audience with her inborn music talent. She won countless awards part of which was songwriter of the year award from ASCAP pop music award; she broke the record of being the first African American woman and the second woman in the world to grab the honor. She gained enormous fame and achieved unsurpassed success as she grew in the music industry. Being a basement of multiple talents, Beyoncé decided to explicitly explore the entertainment industry, she picked up an acting career alongside her music. She made her acting debut in 2006 where she starred opposite Jennifer Hudson, Jjaime Foxx and Eddie Murphy in a film titled dream girls. That same year she released her second studio album titled “2016’s b’day”, releasing hit songs like irreplaceable and déjà vu. What an ambitious lady she is!
On April 4, 2008, Beyoncé tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend and a giant in the music industry, Jay-z in a simple and silent ceremony in New York City. They worked together in 2002 and they both fell in love with each other, they kept the relationship diligently till when they both tied the knot. The new couple worked together to keep their music relevant in the industry, they gain fame and lots of success was achieved. During this time, she released several hit songs like: “I am… sasha fierce”, “single ladies” and “if I were a boy”. Also, she featured in several movies; one of wish featured the R&B legend Etta James and others. On January 7 2012, Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcomed a baby daughter, blue ivy carter
Alongside her lofty career in the entertainment industry, she delved into clothing lines; she named it “House of Dereon” with her mother. She also launched her fragrance, Heat, in 2010. She also took up a modeling career for top brands like L’Oreal and Tommy Hilfiger. Also in 2010, she performed a private concert for Libyan president, Muammar Al-qaddafi on the New Year eve, it was one of the critical and baleful experience in her career, she later donated the money she made from the concert to help victims of the Haitian earthquake. This experience made her dropped her father as the brand manager in March 2011. In 2011, she made the Forbes top 10 list of entertainment’s highest-earning women. Her career was very successful, as at 2013, she already carted away 16 Grammy awards.
In February 2017, Beyoncé shook the world by as she surprisingly performed at the Grammys award with her baby bump, she carted away two Grammy awards that faithful day for the best urban contemporary album and best music video.
Presently, she is one of the most successful celebrities with a net worth of $290 million and one of the richest couples in the entertainment industry, both of them are worth $900 million.
Her marriage seems soothing with her heartthrob, Jay-Z. Recently, she took her instagram page to express the anticipation of their new baby.
