Topic: Don’t Watch Lives And Nations Get Destroyed

Author: Pastor Abraham David

And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? (Genesis 18:20-23)

Every time God reveals His plan to us or something He is about to do or what is about to happen, He always expects us to do something about it. If it’s something bad that is about to happen, He expects us to intercede on behalf of those being targeted; if it’s something good, He wants us to still pray that nothing hinders or obstruct His plan and purpose for the people the good is coming to.

God was about to send angels to Sodom and Gomorrah to destroy it because the cry of evil of the people of Sodom and Gomorrah was great, so God appeared to Abraham in order to inform Abraham of what was about to happen the city. Why did God had to inform Abraham of His plan in the first place, can’t He just go on and do what He wants to do being the Almighty God and the maker of all things? God doesn’t do things on earth without first discussing it with His people; remember before He destroyed the world He told Noah; God thinks it’s necessary for His people to know what He is doing or about to do, because there is no darkness in Him at all. He had promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations, and that the nations shall be blessed in him, for this reason, God didn’t want to hide His plan from Abraham. The bible says, And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? (Genesis 18:17-18)

When God revealed to Abraham the evil that would come on the city of Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham didn’t just go away or tell God to go ahead with His plan; the man Abraham couldn’t stay and watch both the righteous and the wicked get destroyed together, he had to move closer to God to talk to Him on behalf of the righteous people in the land. Abraham was not against God carrying our His plan, the only thing he doesn’t want is for the righteous to suffer the same fate and punishment with the wicked, so, he asked God if God was going to destroy both the wicked and the righteous people together, to which God said No. Someone might say Abraham did what he did because of Lot, but looking at the numbers Abraham asked God if He would preserve the city because of them, you will realize he wasn’t focusing on Lot and his family alone knowing that Lot and his family were only four in number. Abraham stood in gap for all the righteous people in the city of Sodom and Gomorrah, but unfortunately, when the angels got to the city, they only found four people, which was not up to the least number Abraham mentioned before God in their dialogue.

The Saints are the children of God on earth today, we are the seed of Abraham, the heirs of the earth and everything in it which the Lord promised to give to our father Abraham; before God will do anything on earth or permit something on earth, He will first reveal it to us His children and when He does, it’s not just for us to only have the knowledge of what’s about to happen, but in order for us to do something about it. For the good things He wants to do, He wants us to pray that nothing on earth hinders them or slow their manifestation; and for the evil which the enemy is about to do which He reveals to us, He wants us to stand in prayer and stop them from happening, or stand in prayer for the righteous who might be affected for them not to be affected by the evil at all. This is what God expects from us every time He shows us any secret plan.

God is always ready to save the nations of the earth and deliver them from evil, but He can’t do anything even though He is God over all things until we His children who inhabit this earth and represent Him do something about it and permit Him to do it by stopping the powers of evil and wickedness, and commanding that His will alone be done on the earth. Don’t watch evil come on people around you or your loved ones who live far from where you are, always stand in prayer for them before the Lord, and decree that no evil shall come near them; do your work as the righteous and God’s representative on earth.

Prayer
My Precious Father, I pray for the lives of your people in all the nations of the earth that they are preserved from evil. It does matter what evil is being done by the enemy, your people shall never be victims of evil and destructions, and the nations and cities where your people live I declare that they are preserve from evil and destruction. Things shall work in the favour of your people in all the earth, and they all shall live in abundance, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
