Scripture: 1 Samuel 2: 30. Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! We shall continue what we started yesterday on how to activate favour.

What are the keys to activating favour?

1. Wisdom of speech making.(details in yesterday’s meditation)

2. Understanding honour: Honour begins with words of gratitude such as thank you! Dishonour begins with ingratitude, refusal to say thank you. There are those who don’t need anything from you but need that sense of gratitude, you showing that you are grateful for whom they are to you or what they represent in your life shows honour.

Beloved, honour is a powerful thing that can force the door of favour to open and keep it open.

This is because honour is a seed that must be sown to reap a harvest of access. And if you have access to any man’s heart then winning the favour of that man is as simple as A, B, C!

When somebody’s heart is open towards you then His hands can as well be open towards you.

Therefore, honour brings access and access brings favour. For example, to have access to the president is to enjoy the favour of the president, so also to have access to the heart of God is to enjoy the favour of God.

Therefore don’t seek the hands only, seek the heart of God and His hands will be wide open for you.

What then is honour?

Honour means to esteem! It is the discerning, the celebration, the rewarding of the usefulness of a person, principles or God.

This implies that you have been able to discern the usefulness of a person, principle or God to you and you go ahead to celebrate that person, principles or God and also do well to reward that person, principle or God.

This explains why when a minister is invited to minister to us we give him a gift called Honorarium!

There are so many Christians who have never honoured their pastors! If you are one of them, please package an Honorarium and send it to your pastor today.

Besides, there are those who dishonour their parents!

How can you insult your parents instead of honouring them? Have you forgotten they are the gateway that brought you into this world!

Do you know honouring your parents has a way of determining how you fare and as well as how long you live on earth;

Ephesians 6: 2. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) 3. That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

You can see that some of the untimely deaths men experience is a function of dishonour. If you must live long don’t dishonour your parents!

I’m aware we are in a generation where men don’t fear God nor have regards for elders.

Please note that any man who is older than you deserves your honour! That they were on earth before you makes them have an advantage of time over you.

This explains why an elder can make a pronouncement and it will stand even though he/she might not be a witch or wizards, the earth will honour their voice more than a younger person. There are those who suffer curses because of dishonour!

So a situation where a young minister insults fathers in the faith is a wrong idea. Some insult via the media, some open confrontation. It is bad! God hates dishonour.

Dishonour is trivializing values, usefulness of a person, principle or God.

Most of us are where we are now because of dishonour to God, dishonour to men and principles. There is no progress for anyyone who lives in dishonour.

Remember this: Heaven is real and hell is real. The decision of where to spend eternity is best made now. Give your heart to Jesus today.

Prayer points:

– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Lord I receive grace to practice honour in the name of Jesus.

Prophetic Declaration:

– I prophesy the release of favour upon your life in the name of Jesus.
– Whatever door has been closed against you because of dishonour, may the mercy of God open it today in the name of Jesus.

From your brother Alex
God bless you.
