I REALIZED I COULD DO MORE THAN ONE THING, HOW DO I KNOW MY PURPOSE?

While I was on campus, I did several things. At this time, I was not a Christian at all but one thing was sure though, I could do many things perfectly well.

I started up as a dancer. I danced so well that I was declared as the “Mr Campus” which was determined by an interdepartmental dance competition. Then I realized I could sing. I had composed over 100 hip-hop songs at that time. Later on, I discovered that I could also “Rap”. I started doing rap music from one department to the other. I had many rap compositions as at then.

After this, I had always noticed how that people feel good when they were around me. One thing was sure, you wouldn’t be around me and be moody.

I kind of have a great sense of humour that will brighten you up. With this, I launched into comedy. I’d go for events and make people laugh. I was feeling good as fame was gradually coming.

There are still many more things I do quite well that I didn’t mention.

Let me not bore you with my story. How would you discover purpose if you’re like this?

You need not to be confused at all. Your gifts or abilities do not outrightly determine your purpose.

Purpose is not what you have, it is what you are meant to do with what you have.

The talents, gifts and abilities are given to you because you have an assignment. There is a problem you were sent to fix. Your gifts are part of the equipments you’ll use to solve that problem.

Purpose is not even what you become, it is what you are meant to do with what you become.

For instance, your purpose is not to be a pastor; your purpose is the assignment you are meant to do as a pastor. Being a music minister is not your purpose, your purpose is the problem your music ministry is meant to solve.

So, here’s the key: God can choose to give you as many gifts as he desires if he believes that they’ll all help you in fulfilling purpose.

For example, you may be good at singing and yet be good at teaching the word of God. You need not to be confused.

There is only one assignment you are meant to fulfill with the two gifts. It might be that God wants you to always set young people on fire for him. He then gave the teaching and singing grace.
So, when you sing, your purpose is to set people on fire and when you teach, it is to the end that people are set on fire for God.

The major issue is that, we are much concerned about titles than assignment. There’s a general name Jesus called all of us, WITNESSES. Whether you are an Apostle, prophet or whatever, we are all witnesses.

Note this, if you have more than one abilities, try to know the ability that you must invest more into. That may be your most pronounced ability.

Dr Paul Enenche sings and composes many spirit filled songs but he knows that singing is not his major tool.

Sometimes Ehn, before you get into the central of God’s assignment for you, you’ll have become many other things before then.

You may start as a mere teacher and end up as a prophet.

The idea is, “follow me and I’ll make you fishers of men”.

So, my brother, follow Jesus, not title.
