IF YOUR MINISTRY DIE WHEN
YOU DIE, YOU HAVE WASTED DESTINY

GOD DETESTS TEMPORAL STRUCTURES; HE LOOKS FORWARD TO SOMETHING THAT WILL START AND WILL CONTINUE AND WILL ENDURE TILL ETERNITY.

REAL VISIONAIRES ALWAYS EXPECT THAT THE VISION WILL OUTLIVE THEM.

TO BUILD MINISTRIES THAT WILL LAST HUNDREDS OF YEARS IF JESUS TARRIES, WE NEED TO BUILD BY THE WORD OF GOD.

– Bishop David Abioye at Church Growth Conference, 2022. (BUILT TO LAST)
Opening Session,
Day One

What a joy to have everyone of us, wonderfully and gorgeously seated tonight at this first session, the opening session of Church Growth Conference, 2022. On behalf of God’s servant, our Father in the house whom God has placed to lead us in the school of the prophet and ministers of the Gospel, the President of David Oyedepo Ministries International, Bishop David Oyedepo.

I welcome everyone of you with full assurance that what God has spoken to him which has been happening in many lives and ministries, is going to be repeated in our lives.

God told his servant, “through you I will raise the foundation of other ministries”. The testimonies are here with us, the evidences are everywhere both locally and globally and I want to announce to someone tonight, you will be listed as the next testifier in the precious name of Jesus.

We recognize also tonight, the presence of Bishop John Praise Daniel, you are welcome. Pastor Femi Emmanuel, you are welcome and we have also tonight with us, our dearly beloved co-labourer, all the way from Atlanta, please permit, I have the name but it’s somewhere for tonight. I know you very much in the Spirit, you are welcome with your dear wife and a lot of other people from foreign nations of the earth. We want to recognize everyone of us, tomorrow by the grace of God, we will be doing further recognition. Again, you are welcome!

As we have been informed earlier, this is business; spiritual business. The theme of this conference is: ‘BUILT TO LAST.’
Across the globe today, we see several buildings, some last five years, some ten, some twenty years. I was on a journey to Kaduna two days ago and on returning, I saw some buildings that have been there since in the 70s and I told the fellows with me in the vehicle, this building has been here, I know since I started going to Kaduna in 1972 – storey buildings, built to last.

As we see it in the physical, it’s traceable to the things of the Spirit, God built to last; He laid the foundation and nothing has shifted since creation. God is Builder and we are created in the image and the likeness of God, we are expected to build to last. God detests temporal structures; He looks forward to something that will start and will continue and will endure till eternity.

So also, ministries are built or meant to be built to last. I always tell people, that if your ministry dies when you die, then you have wasted destiny. Real visioners always expect that the vision will outlive them. The first visioner of any ministry is the first baton holder, who is expected to hand it over to the next generation.

The heart of God’s servant has been burning over the years, how do we build sustainable ministries? The charismatics in particular, how do we build something that will last for hundreds of years to come if Jesus tarries? I can tell you as privileged son close to his heart, this is what is burning in his heart right now and therefore, the real business we are here for is to show to us, how to build to last.

Quickly before we rise to pray, the core material for building is the Word of God (Acts 20:32). Learning the Word is building our ministries; we must learn to build before we become competent to build.

I want us therefore to get ready; we are here for the Word, we are here for light, we are here for insight, we are here for the raw materials that will enable us to build lasting ministries. Will you please join me with a desperation you have never expressed before, begin to tell God; often we wait till the last session before we desperately pray, but let it begin from this first session.

PRAYER:
– Lord, open my eyes, open my ears, open my heart; let all the fountains of learning be open, my ears to hear, my heart to discern. I don’t want temporal building, I want lasting, enduring, elastic, expanding ministry, Lord in the name of Jesus. You gave me this calling, Father in the name of Jesus, it must last.
