“Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” is a song by Hillsong United from their album Zion and released in September 10, 2013. This song spent 48 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart in the United States year 2013 and became the top song of 2014 on the chart.
This song is so inspiring and Soul lifting, it connects you to the Realm of the Holy Spirit, where you can feel his Presence and Power all over you, I use to listen to this song every day, before I start praying in Tongues, it as edified me greatly and keep me on my feet spiritually.
The Song Talks about our Focus and Unwavering Trust in God and his sovereignty, his ability never to fail, as children of God, we are meant to lift our eyes to God in every hard times and challenging times, we must never be down, we must keep believing and hoping in his unfailing Love.
The Song talks about the Verse of the Bible in Matthew 14: 22 – 31;
22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
So the song was basically talking about how that we can walk on water (and whatever circumstances of life) if we put our Trust and unwavering Faith in God.
Remember part of the Lyrics says;
And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace
So this establish our confidence and Assurance in the name of Jesus, when we call on his name, he will keep our eyes beyond the waves (the things that have tendency of making us fearful), and when the ocean rise, we can rest and trust in the Lord perpetually, he is reliable, the bible says, they that trust in the lord shall be like mount zion that cannot be moved but that abideth forever, Amen!
Another part of the Lyrics says;
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever you would call me
That is, the promised Holy Spirit, who guides us and leads us in the way to go, this leading of the Holy spirit is very crucial in the life of believers as this is the only guarantee for victorious living, we need his guidance always!. See John 16:13 and John 14:26.
Another Lyrics says;
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Saviour
There are levels in the Anointing of the Holy Spirit, and which ever level we are, there is always an higher dimension and a deeper realm than what we have seen, and we must cry for deeper realm, so that we can command deeper dimension of result.
The presence of the Holy Spirit is also an instrument that boost and propel the faith of believers, and thus, we need to have the ever present and ever abiding Holy spirit with us, so that our faith can be stronger, the bible says, The just shall live by Faith – Habakkuk 2:4.
The Bible also says, Building yourself upon your most holy Faith, by Praying in the Holyghost – Jude 1:20.
So praying in the SPIRIT builds us up, it builds our faith; it builds our confidence, audacity, and authority.
As a Christian, we must contend to be filled with the Spirit, so that we can grow in faith and be victorious over every challenges and oceans of life.
This is what the song is all about, God bless you in Jesus precious name, Amen.
The Song Oceans where feet may fail, edifies Believers, and glorify God, exalt the name of Jesus and his a biblical song, birthday by inspiration and revelation of Scriptures to spark revival across the nations of the world.
