Topic: Our New Place
Author: Pastor Abraham David

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.John 14:2‭-‬3 KJV

When Jesus said to the disciples as read in our theme scripture, “I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also;” they didn’t actually understand what He was saying, but He did went and prepared a new place for us through His death, and His blood which He presented to the Father to obtain eternal redemption for the whole world.

What Jesus did for us was more than forgive our sins, He forgave our sins and also brought us into oneness with Him and with the Father by His blood which He shed for the sins of the world. By doing that, He took us from our old place to the new place He had prepared for us by His blood, and this new place is the place of glory and honour.

Before Jesus came to the world to die for our sins, the whole world had lost the glory, so the scripture says in Romans 3:23, “for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” The whole world came or fall short of God’s glory because of sin. Sin separated us from the presence of God where His glory is; but Jesus came, took this sin which made us come short of the glory, He took it away, and by taking it away, He took away the wall of partition, meaning no more separation between us and the glory.

That which made the whole world come short of the glory has been taken away, now, if anyone would accept what Jesus had done and confess Him as Lord and Saviour, he won’t be at distance from the presence of God anymore, he would be brought into the very presence of God and His glory. That which separated us from God had been removed already, but all men are still not in the presence, but at the same spot where they were before the sins were taken away, and now have to make the decision to move from where they are to the new place Jesus had prepared for us, the place of glory, which is the place of sonship, the sonship of God.

The word of God says in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Jesus already paid the price for sins, that was why He died, and now, no man needs to pay the price for his sins, we all just need to receive the gift of God, ‘eternal life’ which is found in Jesus Christ alone. As you receive this gift of God, you are moved up and catapulted from the realm of death, the realm of shame and disgrace to the realm of overwhelming glory and honour.

My dear Father, you delivered me from sins and have brought me into oneness with you. By the sacrifice of your Son Jesus Christ, you took all my pain and shame away, now instead of reproach, I am glorified. Hallelujah!
