WHEN GOD SPEAKS, THE ENEMY PICKS IT AND BEGINS TO OPPOSE IT.
IT IS THE DUTY OF MAN TO TAKE THE WORD THAT GOD HAS SPOKEN AND ENGAGE IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE TO CLEAR OFF ALL OPPOSITION SO IT CAN BE ESTABLISHED.
IT IS OUR EXPECTATION THAT MAKES OUR SPIRITUAL ENGAGEMENT POTENT.
WHEN PRAYER AND FASTING IS DONE WITHOUT EXPECTATION, IT LACKS POTENCY
WHAT IS LOADED INSIDE THE WOMB OF YOUR SPIRIT AS EXPECTATION IS WHAT DETERMINES WHAT WILL BE DELIVERED AS MANIFESTATION.

Day 15, Morning Session,
21 Days of Prayer and Fasting (10th to 30th January 2022)
Our Father in the name of Jesus, we thank you today for all of the answers. We are well aware and rest assured that you have not only heard but have answered all our prayers, for it we say thank you. Now our eyes are on you this morning, we ask that you speak to us again, we give all the praise and glory to you in Jesus precious name we have prayed.
We have been able to establish from God’s word in the course of this prayer and fasting that our God is a God of plans and purposes. That is whether it concerns us as individuals or corporately as a body Jeremiah 29:11. We also discovered that God is in the habit of declaring His plan before He executes it (Isaiah 46:10).
We also discovered from the word of God that because the word of God is declared before time it attracts opposition. 1 Corinthians 16:9. This is why we must engage in battle if we are going to see the agenda of God delivered.
Deuteronomy 2:24. It is given to you by declaration but you take possession by contention. There is a demand to engage in battle in order to take hold of what God has given you by declaration. That’s why we discover that we war with every divine agenda in order to see it established in spite of every Satanic opposition. 1 Timothy 1:18.
There is a demand for contention before there can be possession. Let us recognize this morning that since the enemy we are contending with is spiritual, our victory also is spiritual. Ephesians 6:12. We are in a spiritual contention which demands spiritual victory. If our victory is spiritual, our weapons therefore must be spiritual. 2 Corinthians 10:3-4. Scripturally, one of the most vital spiritual weapons that is required to clear all satanic opposition is the weapon of prayer and fasting. Matthew 17:21. Where there is a mountain or a resistance, prayer and fasting is the most vital weapon for the clearing of all such weapons.
- I see everyone here clearing off all their mountains in Jesus name.
When God speaks, the enemy picks it and begins to oppose it. It is the duty of man to take the word that God has spoken and engage in spiritual warfare to clear off all opposition. It is only our expectation that makes our engagement potent. When prayer and fasting is done without expectation, it lacks potency.
Proverbs 23:18. Expectation is a vital requirement if we are going to see answers on the altar of prayer. Therefore all through this week, we are going to be looking at the line of expectation entitled: PRAYING ANSWER-EXPECTANT PRAYERS.
We are going to look at the example of David first this morning. 2 Samuel 5:18-25. We have two accounts of David going before the Lord engaging the mystery of answer-expectant prayers.
The Bible tells us that the Philistines had spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim and were about to go to war with the Israelites and David prayed an expectant prayer to the Lord. He was praying a prayer that required an answer so He was praying with expectation.
You know what it means to be looking at the army right in front of you and yet you are going to God, “Lord what do I do?”. He was praying a prayer with clear expectations and clear goals and targets. It’s amazing how many times people pray prayers that don’t have a clear goal and target. God answered according to his expectation.
God will not deliver what you have not asked. So he came with clear expectations and God gave him clear deliveries.
- In this season, I see God giving you clear deliveries.
2 Samuel 5:23 – 24
We are told that the Philistines came a second time, in the same valley, the same scenario and David did not assume his answer for the past response, He enquired of the Lord and the Lord said “thou shall not go up”. You had an answer in the past but what is the answer for the present? You must have clear expectations.
- In this year, you will not battle in vain.
- Everything that seeks to contend with you, God will arise and smite them.
What we are trying to establish this morning is that intercession with expectation will never deliver on the altar of prayer. Mark 11:24. Expectation is a requirement for anyone to take delivery on the altar of prayer. Hebrews 11:1.
What that means is that where there is no expectation, faith is barren and also where there is no expectation, prayer is barren. The effectiveness of our prayer is determined by the potency of our expectation. Hebrews 11:6. Before you can approach God, you need faith and before you can have faith, you need expectation. So without expectation you cannot reach God. There are people who are making declarations, making supplications, making intercession but God is not aware because the connectivity is determined by expectation.
Where expectation is lacking, the volume of your prayer notwithstanding, connection to God is not secure. To approach Him, you need faith, to have faith you need expectation. Our answers are largely at the mercy of our expectations. You and I must understand that before arriving at the prayer altar there is something that is required and that is expectation. Your heart must first be pregnant with expectation. Entering a delivery room does not guarantee delivery, it is expected delivery in terms of pregnancy that guarantees delivery.
If not, the nurse is also in the delivery room but she is not giving birth because she is not expecting. You can arrive at the prayer room which is a delivery room spiritually but there will be no delivery except you are pregnant with expectation.
So the question you must ask yourself is this : when I arrive at the prayer altar what am I pregnant with? What is loaded inside the womb of your spirit as expectation is what determines what will be delivered as manifestation. That is why God’s servant has said over the years that expectation is the mother of manifestation. Until there is expectation, there can be no manifestation.
As we conclude, let’s take note of this thought: we must keep seeing the reality of what we are praying for. That is one of the manifestations of genuine expectation. As far as your eyes can see, it will be given unto you. If you can see it you can pick it.
That is one of the vital expressions of expectations. Romans 4:18-21. Abraham was looking at something ahead so what he was seeing did not allow him to see the deadness of his own body or Sarah’ womb. It is sight against sight, you are either seeing spiritually or you get confused physically.
When you get on the altar of prayer, it is the time to close physical sight and open spiritual sight. Look into the spirit for your expectation. A woman that is pregnant is not confused about what she is carrying. That is how you must be on the altar of prayer.
Prayers: Lord I receive grace to engage this mystery of answer expectant prayers. No more barren prayers. Every time I approach the altar there must be a delivery.
