ONE SIMPLE TRICK I USE IN PRAYING FOR THE NEEDS OF OTHERS IS TO MENTION NAMES AS POINTS OF CONTACT. YOU WILL DISCOVER THAT YOU WILL BEGIN TO GET GREATER RESULTS.

WHEN YOU PRAY FOR THE NEEDS OF CHURCH MEMBERS, YOU DON’T HAVE TO APPROACH THEM AND TELL THEM YOU ARE PRAYING FOR THEM.

PRAYING FOR THE NEEDS OF MEMBERS IS SEED SOWING. PRAYER IS A SEED AND WHATSOEVER A MAN SOWS, THAT HE SHALL REAP.

DO IT IN SECRET AND GOD WILL REWARD YOU OPENLY.

  • When the challenges of members are turned into testimonies, they attract others to Church.
  • God begins to meet your own needs without even you asking for Him to do so, when you pray for others. He did it for Abraham, Job and He is still doing so now.
Father, we have come this early morning to give You thanks for the gift of another day, for the gift of life. Accept our thanks in Jesus name. Thank You for answered prayers corporately, personally. Thank You for those wonderful testimonies, we decree they shall be permanent. This morning, our hearts are opened, speak to us again, change our story again and let your name be glorified, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
All through this week, in our Covenant Hour of Prayer, we have been examining the subject:
    SPIRITUAL STEWARDSHIP PAYS THE MOST
    Romans 12:11-12
We must be reminded of this very important fact and that is the fact that serving God is a big-time business. One of the major ways by which serve God is through prayers especially praying for the needs of members. That is why this morning, we shall be examining briefly how spiritual stewardship or praying for the needs of members pays the most.
One major way by which we serve God spiritually is by praying for the needs of members. Please understand, people of God, that praying for others turns their challenges into testimonies. It turns their challenges into testimonies.
    Philippians 1:19

“…I know that this shall turn to my salvation”: In other words, it will turn to my testimonies. So when you pray for the needs of others, their challenges are turned into testimonies. I know that at this point, you all can remember several testimonies that we have heard to that effect of individuals who stood in the gap, praying for the needs of other members and how those needs were turned into testimonies.

I can never forget one of us who stood and shared a testimony, how that she specifically prayed for the needs of members to the point that when those individuals came to share their testimonies, she could clearly say to herself, “I know that I prayed for this one.” How many of us remember that testimony? Praise the Lord.

When you and I stand in the gap and pray for the needs of others, their challenges are turned into testimonies. Very importantly, one very simple trick that I have found that helps me a lot in my own prayer life, because you ask yourself, “how many members of the

Church do you and I know personally? How many of their needs do you know personally?”, but the Spirit of God knows all things. Isn’t it so? So you pray for them in the

Holy Ghost for the Spirit helps our infirmities in prayers. So when it comes to praying for the needs of others in different areas of life, depend more on the Holy Ghost because you and I may know their need on the surface, but you don’t know it deep down to the root.

But the Spirit of God searches all things, yea, the deep things of God – 1 Corinthians 2:10.
As we engage in praying for the needs of others, do it much more in the Holy Ghost. Pray much more in the Spirit and as you do so, you will begin to get greater results in Jesus name. When you see the needs of members, also one other thing that I do that helps me a lot is I pick one person that I know as a point of contact: “Lord, I pray for members who are in this particular kind of need using so and so person as a point of contact.” As you do so, you will discover that you will begin to get greater results in Jesus name.
Praying for the needs of members, you must also remember very clearly, you will do it in secret. You don’t have to approach the person, “Oh, do you know I have been praying for you!” The Bible says God who sees you in secret will reward you openly – Matthew 6:6.
-Your open reward season is just beginning.

Genesis 20:17 – Abraham at this point in time hadn’t gotten a child yet. God had promised him years before, yet the promise of God had not yet manifested in the life of Abraham, but he stood and prayed for Abimelech. When Abraham prayed for Abimelech, we are told in that scripture, God healed them and they bare children.

No wonder, Genesis chapter 21, just the next chapter, verses 1 to 2, Sarah conceived and bare Abraham a son in his old age.
Genesis 21:1-2
Just the chapter before, chapter 20, Abraham prayed for Abimelech and his household and they bare children. Next chapter, chapter 21, God remembered Sarah.
-Your testimony that you have been waiting on for so long is just at the door.
Also when the challenges of members are turned into testimonies, they attract others to Church.
Zechariah 8:23 – “…We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.”
How did they hear? Through their testimonies. They saw their testimonies. “We have heard that God is with you”; “We know you, you used to be poor, now we can see clearly you are no longer poor, you are rich by helping others.”
“We have heard that God is with you, so we will go with you: We know you, you used to be childless, now you have children. We have seen with our eyes, God is in the midst of you. So we will go with you.”
The testimonies of others bring many more people to Church.
-That is how from this day forward, the testimonies of the doings of the Lord in your own life will begin to attract many more to the Kingdom of God in Jesus name.
Psalm 23:6 – Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
For how long? All the days of my life.
-From today, that will become your testimony.
Furthermore, when we pray for others, we must remember that God makes happen for us what we pray for others. What you pray for others, God makes happen for you.
Ephesians 6:8 – Whatsoever good thing any man doeth, (including praying for others), the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

Therefore, we must understand that praying for the needs of members is seed sowing. Prayer is a seed and whatsoever a man sows, that he shall reap – Genesis 8:22
Therefore, let’s begin much more than ever before to invest spiritually in praying for the needs of other members.

As you do so, God begins to meet your own needs without even you asking for Him to do so. We saw that just a while ago in the life of Abraham.
Job 42:10 – The Lord turned the captivity of Job. When did He do that? When he (Job) prayed for his friends.

It happened in the life of Job, it happened in the life of Father Abraham, we have seen it happen in our midst, in several people’ lives, your own testimony shall be the next.
Remember the testimonies we heard this morning especially the first one, he said, “very importantly, serving God pays. Now international jobs here and there, having to pray and fast to be able to choose, asking for divine direction.”

I want to assure you this morning, especially as we engage in serving God on this platform, the testimonies that you have been long awaiting will speedily reach your hand.
What a joy, today we are waiting on the Lord in fasting and prayer.

Remember that fasting amplifies the effect of our prayers. So spend time in prayers: few minutes here, few minutes there; pray for the needs of members, make investments, sow seeds and as you do so, your harvest in the open is guaranteed in Jesus name.

Prayers: Grace to begin to invest much more than ever before, praying for the needs of members, receive it in Jesus name.
