ACCORDING TO BISHOP DAVID OYEDEPO, “LIFE IS A WILDLIFE PARK”. WE LIVE IN A WICKED WORLD.
MEN PROTECT THEMSELVES BY CEMENT AND BLOCKS, BUT GOD PROTECTS HIS PEOPLE BY FIRE.
WHEN THE FIRE OF GOD SURROUNDS A PEOPLE, THEY CANNOT BE PENETRATED BY EVIL.
WHEN GOD IS YOUR DEFENCE, YOUR ENEMIES ARE HELPLESS.
YOU MAY START FROM THE GROUND BUT YOU CAN’T END ON THE GROUND.
NOBODY STAYS GROUNDED SERVING GOD.
SERVING GOD IS THE JACKPOT OF DESTINY.
-Pastor David Oyedepo Jr at CHoP
Our Father, we thank You and give You the praise today for Your faithfulness and goodness. Thank You for all that You have done, we give all the praise and glory to You.
Now Lord, our eyes are upon You this morning, we ask that You will speak to us again by Your Word. Let Your Word transform our lives, in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank You Father, in Jesus
Our line of exhortation all through this week has been:
SERVING GOD IS ESSENTIALLY FOR OUR BENEFIT.
We have come to understand that every commandment of God is absolutely to our benefit – 1 John 5:3
There is no commandment of God that is to the benefit of God, but rather to the profit of man – 2 Timothy 3:15
Everyone commandment of God is ordained for our profiting, every single commandment is ordained for our profiting and this includes the commandment for stewardship.
It is important for us to understand that there is no area of man’s life that is not positively affected by the commitment to serve God
Just the commitment to serve God has a positive impact on every department of life. That is why the Word of God makes clear to us in Matthew chapter 6 verse 33, that you seek first the Kingdom
of God, serving Him, pursuing Him, honouring Him and as you do that, all the things others are dying for, they are added simply to you. It is what God’s servant as referred to as the Jackpot of life: it is the
greatest opportunity given to man.
We understand that in the journey of life, life is an adventure in opportunities.
It is the opportunities you take that determines the destiny you display.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 – Time and chance (or time and opportunity) happen to them all.
Every individual’s place in destiny is a product of the opportunities that they take and the greatest opportunity provided to you and to me was the opportunity of stewardship.
Job 36:11 – So serving God is the platform that positions you for pressure-free blessings. It puts you in the position where you can enjoy the best of life. That is why we can say that serving God
is the Jackpot of destiny.
But like we have heard over the years, it is not a gift, it is not a calling, but rather a choice – Joshua 24:15
It is a choice that we make and that choice determines the blessing that we take.
As you make the choice to serve, you take the blessing of service.
-For somebody here, I see you picking up the blessing of service, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
What are some of these blessings or benefits of serving God? We’ll look at two of them quickly this morning and then we pray.
1. Serving God guarantees our protection: God’s Servant has said “life is a wildlife park.” That means it is encumbered with dangers.
Psalm 74:20 – We live in a wicked world.
1 John 5:19 – We live in a wicked world
He called it the habitation of cruelty.
That is why there is a need in this wicked world for protection and one of the avenues to secure divine protection is the avenue of stewardship
We look at the example of Daniel in scriptures. Daniel was a servant of God and his service became an avenue for his protection by God.
What is it that gave this Daniel protection in the den of the lions? It was the fact that he was a servant of God. We have come to recognise that in scriptures, you are not called by your title, you are
called by your function.
So servant of God was not a title, it was a function.
Daniel 6:20 – “Thou servant of the living God”, he said, “is thy God whom thou servest continually…” He was a man that was known for continuity in stewardship, therefore the lions were unable to
Daniel 6:22 – The lions were unable to touch him because he was a servant of God, one committed to serving God.
Luke 10:1, 17, 19
That was a promise given to those who had committed themselves to serving God – Luke 10:19
As we serve God, we position ourselves for the enjoyment of divine protection.
1 John 5:18
How do we keep ourselves? Jude 1:21 – Keep yourselves in the love of God
As you are busy loving God, serving God, as you busy pursuing God, what are you doing? You are keeping yourself. You are preserving yourself, you are protecting yourself.
Not by your power, but by the power of God and when God is your defence, your enemies are helpless.
-I see each one of us from this day forward enjoying Heaven’s defence
Romans 8:31 – When God is your defence, your enemies are helpless.
Zechariah 2:5 – Men protect themselves by cement and blocks, God protects His people by fire.
When the fire of God surrounds a people, they cannot be penetrated by evil.
When Egypt was pursuing after Israel, there was a pillar of fire, not a pillar of concrete, a pillar of fire. There was no way for Egypt to cross over to inflict harm on the people of God, because
God Himself had become to them a wall of fire.
-For somebody here, the God of Heaven, the God of this Commission, the God of Bishop David Oyedepo will become a wall of fire to you.
2. Serving God guarantees our supernatural change of level. No one remains grounded serving God. Everyone that commits themselves to serving God supernaturally enjoys a change of level.
An example of that is Joseph – Psalm 105:17-22
“…and let him go free” – That was one level – Psalm 105:20
“He made him to be lord over his house” – Another level – Psalm 105:21a
“He made him to be ruler over all his substance” – Another level – Psalm 105:21b
“To bind his princes at his pleasure” – Another level – Psalm 105:22a
“And to teach his senators wisdom” – Psalm 105:22b
Continuous changing of level on the basis of stewardship. When you are a servant, you are positioned for change of levels.
“Occupy till I come”: By the time He returned, those who had occupied had changed levels
Change of level: nobody stays grounded serving God.
You may start from the ground but you can’t end on the ground. When you are serving God, you are bound to experience a change of level.
-For somebody here, your change of level is coming this season
Prayers: Lord, I make my choice to serve You; now I take grace to serve You. I take grace to serve You tirelessly, to serve You committedly, to serve You wholeheartedly, to serve You faithfully,
to serve steadfastly.
Pray from the depth of your heart.
I take your grace!!! The grace to serve You committedly, to serve You wholeheartedly, to serve You with all that is within me, I take it now.
Receive that grace. Lord, I receive grace to serve You consistently, wholeheartedly, I receive that grace.
Thank Him, appreciate Him for the grace that you have taken hold right now. Father, I thank You and blessed be Your holy name. In Jesus precious name we have prayed.
You have asked for grace, that grace will be made manifest in your life, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Declare the breath of the Spirit of God upon every tract, every flier, every outreach material: that as these outreach materials go out, they, themselves will be paper missionaries, going forth
attracting great harvest.
Lord, these materials are sent forth and we declare that every one tract and flier return with a mighty harvest. Not one of these materials shall be barren. The Word shall be convicting, they
shall be converting, in the name of Jesus Christ and by them multitudes shall be drawn into Your House. Thank You Father for it, in Jesus precious name. It is done, in Jesus precious name.
We take advantage of the materials, using them all through the day, inviting people, compelling people and God who sees your labour in secret will reward you openly.
Don’t forget, tomorrow is our District Outreach, we are invading all of our districts and pulling in the harvest for Jesus. As we do so, the Lord who sees your engagement will reward you supernaturally.
-Your life will be heavily decorated this year, in the name of the Lord Jesus.
