TOPIC: SHEDDING LIGHT ON CHRISTMAS
Scripture: Isaiah 7: 14. Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! It is no longer a news that Christmas bells are ringing everywhere, today is Christmas Eve.
So we shall be looking at the prophetic dimensions to this holiday called Christmas.
In several quarters there have been disputes to the date December 25th. It is believers in this dispensation that believe Jesus was not actually born on that day.
Well, the history to December 25th is a very long one so we shall save ourselves from it for now. As per whether Jesus was born on the 25th or not is inconsequential! We are much more interested in the prophecy of the scriptures.
What are the prophecies of the Scripture about Christmas?
1. Immaculate conception: it was never on record before Jesus was born that a virgin will be with a child! It happened because the prophecy concerning His birth must be fulfilled:
Isaiah 7: 14. Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Immanuel means God with us! God needed to identify with mortal man and that was what happened at Jesus birth.
The light here is that between Isaiah’s prophecy and the birth of Jesus was 700years! I don’t know what prophecy is hanging over your life in this season of celebrating the fulfilment of prophecy of our Lord Jesus, that prophecy shall find fulfilment in your life in the name of Jesus.
2. The exact location:
Micah 5: 2. But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
The town was prophesied as Bethlehem and when it was time for Jesus to be born, God orchestrated events that moved the parents to that exact location.
Now here’s the light: in this season of celebrating the birth of our Saviour, God will orchestrate events and activities around your life that will bring in the fulfilment of prophecy.
Besides, Jesus was born in a stable(a place where animals are kept). This is to inform you that the location of your birth is not the definition of your life. Don’t allow your place of origin to make you loose sight of what you are born to be. During Jesus birth there was no antenatal, yet the baby survived the time.
It doesn’t matter the time and the circumstances that surrounds your birth, you will certainly become what God has ordained you to be. Jesus earthly parents were carpenters yet that did not stop the fulfilment of prophecy on Jesus’ life even so shall you fulfill the purpose of your existence in the name of Jesus.
3. Joy to the world:
Luke 1: 14. And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
There is no other feast in human history that has attracted joy to humanity like Christmas. You will see both those that believe in Jesus and those that do not believe celebrating the Christmas with joy in fulfilment of Bible prophecy!
This is why I can announce to someone today, your joy has arrived. Whatever tampered with your joy in the past is destroy now in the name of Jesus.
While we celebrate Christmas in fulfilment of prophecy we must have it in mind that there are other prophecies about Jesus that are yet to be fulfilled. And that is His second coming, therefore celebrate the Christmas with sober reflection not in riot and drunkenness.
Remember this : Heaven is real and hell is real. The decision of where to spend eternity begins now. Give your heart to Jesus today.
– Father thank you for your word to me today.
– Lord I received grace to celebrate Christmas with wisdom in the name of Jesus
– I declare your joy has come, enter into your rest place.
– I declare every suspended prophesy over your life begins to manifest in the name of Jesus.

God bless you
