I want to share some amazing thoughts with my readers, and show you the highest degree, or form of cruelty.
For more than one week now, I’ve not been able to move away from Matthew 19:1-10. I was moved to study the gospel according to Matthew, so I started studying the book middle of last month. Early last week I got to chapter 19 and started the study on the Chapter, but the first 10 verses have been amazing, full of revelations of the Spirit and insight, that all I’ve found myself doing is continue to move from these verses to other books of the Bible, and back to the same verses in Matthew 19:1-10. It has been like this for man than one week now. I want to finish the chapter and go to the next, but couldn’t for now; every day when I open my Bible to begin study, I find myself in this chapter, with fresh revelations and insights that keeps me on the chapter for hours, so I have decided to stay on this chapter, and continue until I receive everything the Lord has for me at this very moment.
I have decided to share few things from my study pending on when I would be permitted to share the revelations and insights God has been given me on His original plan for marriage, and why divorce is evil. I’ll share also a few of the notes I put down for you to read. But before I begin, I would like you to read the scripture too:
Matthew 19:1-10 KJV
_*And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judæa beyond Jordan; And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there. The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.*_
*1.* God ordained marriage to be between a man and a woman, not between a man and women, but men’s carnal desire has been the reason for marrying many women. The Bible did not encourage any man to marry more than one wife. Abraham married one wife, Sarah, and lived with her until her death. It was after the death of Sarah that he married Keturah. Isaac, the son of promise married only one wife. Jacob wanted only Rachel as his wife because she was the woman he loved, but Laban tricked him, and gave him Leah; for this reason, he had to serve for another seven years to marry the woman he loved. Moses married only one wife, but after the death of his wife, he married another woman. But people who love to fulfill their carnal desires and lust always look for scriptures to support their wrong motives, such people say Abraham practiced polygamy and married two wives, and they mention Hagar as his second wife, but Hagar was never Abraham’s wife, she was their servant, and according to their tradition, the wife of a man can give her husband her maidservant to sleep with so she could have children through that servant, and so the children become the children of her mistress. It was the same thing Leah and Rachel did. In this case, the husband doesn’t have right to go into the servant without the permission of her mistress, only the mistress can give the servant to her husband because she has hundred percent right over her.
Some mention David and say, if God doesn’t want a man to marry more than one wife, he would have stopped David, but God is not like that, and He always separates His call from a man’s personal life. David was a man who struggled a lot with his carnal desire, and lust for women, God doesn’t want it, but he couldn’t force David to do what he doesn’t want to do, so He allowed him to live his life the way he wants to, but we all know the evil David did to Uriah, and the trouble he went through because of his lust. I have many things to say in this line, but they are not for today.
*2.* I found out from the scriptures that divorce is evil, and is the highest form of cruelty. God does not, and will never approve divorce, and no one can be so anointed to see divorce as a good option to have his joy or peace restored. For any man or woman to think of, and consider divorce as an option means the person’s mind has been possessed by the devil. God doesn’t dislike divorce, He hates it; if God hates divorce, it means, it is evil.
God didn’t tell Moses to give the people reasons why they could divorce their wives, Moses was the one who decided on that, and permitted them to divorce their wives, but the spiritually dead Jews didn’t know this, but Jesus knew and He told them why Moses permitted them, and that it was not from God.
Why do people divorce? They divorce, not because they think they are no longer compatible, but because they have allowed the devil possess their minds, and since the devil hates marriage, he move them to divorce each other.
Court can join people in marriage, and that is working in God’s plan, but when court approves divorce, it means the court has positioned itself against God.
The devil possess the mind of people and move them to seek divorce, and because the devil knows that no true church of Jesus will approve divorce, he takes charge of the court affairs, and use the court as instrument to actualize his evil plan of divorce.
After Jesus told the Pharisees and His disciples God’s original plan for marriage and how divorce that Moses permitted was never part of God’s plan, the disciples seeing that there’s no way, and no reason whatsoever to divorce a woman once you are married to her said to Jesus, _*“if this is the case of a man and his wife, then it is better no to marry.”*_ What they meant was, if there’s no way a man is ever going to be allowed to divorce his wife, then it is better not to marry in the first place than to marry and not be able to go out of it.
A Christian cannot say, I married this woman before I became born again, but now I am born again and she doesn’t know Christ and is not willing to know and follow Him, so we are not compatible; no! You still can’t divorce her, you don’t have that permission, you have to live with her, and do everything necessary to win her to Jesus. It doesn’t matter whether your wife is a witch or Mami water, once you are joined to her in marriage before at least two witnesses, you are married forever.
*3.* Any married man that has interest in another woman, and even go ahead to marry her is an adulterous man. For a man to because of his interest in another woman treat his wife badly, or send her away because of another woman shows the man is an agent of the devil, working with the devil to cause someone pain and bitterness. Divorce is evil, as the devil, so is divorce.
