I have come to announce to you that God is not mocked, trust me when God said he sought for a man, he is not looking for whom to disgrace. He is only looking for whom through wish his name can be glorified, he is not looking for whom to put to shame rather looking for whom to bless, he looking for whom to honor not whom to dishonor. Elijah is also a kind of man that God is seeking for, a true prophet of God, a man of God.
It was so evident in the life of this prophet of God, that truly he is a man of God, and had a sincere work with God, he is a man that walked and worked according to the word of God. 1king 17:5 so he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. He is a man that understands the ways of the lord, he has the knowledge of whom he is serving, and he is a man that has fellowship with God to the extent that heavens answer at his own words. 1King 17:1 ¶ And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand; there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. It is according to his words, trust me no man can command such authority, or dominion without a genuine fellowship with God, he knows whom he is serving, that’s why he could successfully express one of the natures of God which is dominion on earth perfectly. It takes some level of knowing.
1King 18:21 ¶ And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, how long halt ye between two opinions? If the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
He came boldly to the people, the king and even in the presence of the prophets of baal to announce to them, the God he knows, the God he serve, the God that has given him a voice, that at his own words the heavens can be shut and leads to the breakdown of rain in the city. He also brings to them a dimension of God the consuming fire.
1King 18:25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.
He brought to them you have your gods that you serve and I have my own most high God. Let’s come together and put them into test, then we know who is faking things and let the people see with their own eyes, so that they may choose whom to serve. He was so confident in his God, Elijah known his God and he trusted him, he understands the dimensions of God, he knows that even at the presence of waters my God is a consuming fire. He was so confident; I tell you such trust can only birth on genuine knowing of God. First lesson, you can’t trust someone you don’t know what he is capable of doing, that’s why the bible says my people perish because the lack knowledge not prayer or fasting but knowledge. If you don’t know him you can’t trust him, if you don’t know how to do it you’ll be a slave under it. You can’t be greater than what you don’t know.
1King 18:27 and it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. He is very sure what they called gods is fake, he knows the real thing, he so sure of God, this is the God and not just anyhow person, I have fellowship with him, he is living God, he is able to mock them because he know the real thing and was confident to tell them, he is the only one serving the living God 22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD;
1King 18:30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down. He called them come near, come and witness what the living God can do, I am so sure of him, I have tested him and I trusted him. I have known him and he is unchanging, then he repaired the altar of the lord 1king18:30-34. Second lesson, he repaired the altar of the lord, wow! He knows the arrangement is not Godly, that approach doesn’t works in the kingdom, he has master the ways of the kingdom, I tell you the problem in every situation is not God, because he will never fail, he is never weak. Our approaches can always be the issue, make sure you are approaching God on legal and kingdom way, he is forever up to every situation, heaven is never closed on any issue.
1king18:38-39 then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God
I will like to close this write-up on this note; I sincerely announce to you that God is not mocked. He has never called you to make you fail or perish. He has called you to glorify you; he has called you to make people see his manifestations through you. The question is now are you willing to give yourself to knowing him so that you can trust him, and are you ready to trust him to direct your paths and teach you his ways that people may confess the lordship of Christ through you, like he did with our fathers. He did it in the life of Prophet Elijah, he is still doing it in the life of our fathers and he can even do greater in our life and generation. I have announced to you that God is not mocked.
