Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter!

For a few years I have been a Christian and I have observed keenly that not every prayer made receives answers! I began to find out what could make God attend to some prayers and leave some unattended to. Some of my finding is what I will be sharing with us for a couple of days.

Beloved, the reason why most prayers are unanswered is simply because of not praying according to the lay down principle of the Word.

The Word of God is what defines the boundaries of God’s commitment to us. It spells out God’s promises, principles and prophecies!

We must therefore ensure every prayer is within the confines of the scripture.

Our anchor scripture says if we pray in accordance to God’s will, we are sure God will hear us;

1 John 5: 14. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

What then is the will of God?

The will of God is simply the word of God, which is a compilation of volumes of 66 books that have been canonized and accepted as scripture.

To pray according to the scripture is to pray according to the will of God. It is Scriptures that reveal the will and the love of the Father to mankind. Our confidence therefore is not in eloquency of speech but in praying according to the will of God!

This is the only assurance that God will hear us, this is the only assurance that our prayers will receive heaven’s attention. For the Bible said:

1 John 5: 15. And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desire of him.

The following are some of the scriptural basis of prayers that will receive heaven’s attention;

1. It is a prayer directed to God the Father. When Jesus was teaching us to pray, He began by saying:

Matthew 6: 9. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

This implies that every prayer must be directed to God the Father! Does that mean we cannot worship the Son?

Yes we can! When we express how much we love Him, we are worshipping Him!

We can as well direct our love affair to the Holy Spirit telling Him how much we love Him. But when it comes to prayer, intercession, supplication it must be to the Father not to the Son or the Holy Spirit;

John 16: 23. And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

Although there are times when we take advantage of praying in tongues.

The Holy Spirit still maintains the same protocol by directing all prayers to God the Father.

For the Bible said:
Romans 8: 27. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Beloved, whom have you been directing your prayers to? If God is your Father, then it is time to re-examine our prayer patterns and make necessary adjustments. Don’t continue in ignorance and expect results. Let all prayers be directed to God.

Remember this: Heaven is real and hell is real! Men that will be banished to hell are those that reject Jesus here on earth.

Prayer points:
