JESUS DID NOT COME TO TAKE ANYTHING FROM US.
HE CAME TO GIVE, NOT TO TAKE. HE CAME TO BLESS, NOT TO CURSE. HE CAME TO DECORATE, NOT TO DEPLETE.
WHATEVER IS CONTRARY TO THE DECORATION OF REDEMPTION SHALL BE TAKEN OFF YOUR LIFE TODAY.
BEFORE THE ARRIVAL OF CHRIST, MAN WAS EXISTING BUT NOT LIVING. IT WAS THE ARRIVAL OF CHRIST THAT TRIGGERED MAN FROM EXISTENCE TO LIVING.
LIFE DOES NOT COMMENCE AT BIRTH, LIFE COMMENCES AT NEW BIRTH. IT MEANS BEFORE A MAN COMMITS A PERSONAL SIN, HE CARRIES AN INHERITED SIN.
-Pastor David Oyedepo Jr at 1st Service, Special Christmas Service, Faith Tabernacle.
*Without Christ, man is a walking corpse. Real life begins with Jesus Christ.
*A beating heart does not equal life.
*Flowing blood does not equal life.
*A thinking brain does not equal life, it is having Christ that equals life.
*Until a man has Christ, that individual does not have life.
Our Father, this morning, we have come with a voice of appreciation, we have come with a voice of thanksgiving, to celebrate Your faithfulness, to celebrate Your goodness. You have done all things well and for it, we give You the praise. For the gift of Christ, the most important Gift that You gave to us, the Gift we are celebrating today, we say thank You. Accept our thanksgiving today in the name of the Lord Jesus. Now Lord, our eyes are upon You this morning. We ask that You will speak to us today. Let Your Word transform our lives. We give all the praise and the glory to You. In Jesus precious name we have given thanks.
Merry, Merry Christmas to You, in the name of Jesus. Will you say a big Merry Christmas to your neighbour beside you?
Hallelujah, glory to God.
-Every day shall be Christmas for you, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
This morning, we are going to look into God’s Word in this teaching that is captioned:
UNDERSTANDING THE PURPOSE OF THE COMING OF CHRIST
A wise man has said when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. It is important we begin by recognizing from God’s Word that Jesus did not come to get anything from us, but He came to give us all things that pertain to life and to godliness.
2 Peter 1:2-3
Jesus did not come to take anything from us, He came to give all things that pertain to life and godliness to us.
There is nothing that you and I have to offer that God needs.
We must come to understand that Jesus did not come to take anything from us, but rather to give us all things that pertain to life and to godliness. In fact, it is important that we recognize that there is nothing that you and I have that God needs. All that we have is what God gave – 1 Corinthians 4:7
Everything you have actually has come from Him – 2 Corinthians 8:9
He came to give, not to take. He came to bless, not to curse. He came to decorate, not to deplete.
-Therefore, for somebody hearing this voice this morning, whatever is contrary to the decoration of redemption shall be taken off your life today.
-Whatever is contrary to the blessing of redemption shall be taken off your life today.
-I see that becoming somebody’s experience today.
It is important that we look in detail at what Jesus came to give us…. What is the purpose of His coming?
We are going to look at 5 things this morning and I believe God, that the Spirit of God will give us light as we do in the name of Jesus Christ.
- He came to give us eternal life and deliver us from eternal destruction
Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; 2 Corinthians 1:10
We must come to recognize that salvation is not an emblem. Salvation is a deliverance from what the Bible refers to as ‘so great a death’.
Why is this referred to as ‘so great a death’? We must trace our way back to the creation of the original man.
Man ate of the fruit and something took place that day – Romans 5:12
So death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. By that one man’s sin, every other man who came after him was a victim of sin.
If the wages of sin is death and the day a man sins, the Bible says, “that individual dies, for the soul that sinneth, it shall die”, it means that every one who came from the lineage of Adam was born dead.
Everyone was born dead. Is it not a wonder to you that the first signal of human life is tears?
When a child is born, how do they signify the arrival of the child? By tears. The child cries upon arrival because he is born as it were dead.
Why do we say he is born dead? He is conceived in iniquity, he is born in sin until he is born again – Psalm 51:5
Until a man is born again, he is a walking corpse.
Why do we say so? Ephesians 2:1-2
When a man is not born again, he is a dead man walking. He is a walking corpse!!! Life does not start at birth, life starts at new birth. Life does not commence at birth, life commences at new birth. It means therefore before a man commits a personal sin, he carries an inherited sin. Everyone that came from the lineage of Adam, according to scriptures, death passed over all men.
According to God’s Word therefore, until a man is born again, he cannot live again. It is Christ therefore that came ultimately to give us life.
The arrival of Christ was the arrival of life
John 3:16; 1 John 5:12
A beating heart does not equal life. Flowing blood does not equal life. A thinking brain does not equal life, it is having Christ that equals life.
That is the essence of life, that is the fountain of life. Until a man has Christ, that individual does not have life.
He is walking: Yes
He is breathing: Yes
His heart is beating: Yes
But he is a walking corpse.
Real life begins with Christ.
Without this light, man does not know life – John 1:9
The true light, the only One that matters. I will like you to understand that no matter what you accumulate, no matter what you achieve, they are all dead works until you are in Christ. Christ is the essence of life.
That is why the Word of God said in prophecy concerning, “in thee is the fountain of life” – Psalm 36:9
I will like us to understand that God gave to us real life when He gave to us Christ. Before the arrival of Christ, man was existing but not living. It was the arrival of Christ that triggered man from existence to living.
-I pray for anyone that is yet to receive this gift of life, may today be your day of liberty.
It means that this life cannot be achieved, it is a gift. Only when the gift is received is the life made manifest.
1 John 1:1-2
You see, everyone that is in Christ is the one that truly has an experience of life. You haven’t started living at all, until you have Christ living in you.
-I pray for somebody here today, for anyone that is yet to have had this true experience of life, may today be your day of liberty.
Jesus came to give us eternal life and to deliver us from eternal destruction.
Will you lift your hand to Heaven and say, “Thank You Jesus.”
One more time, lift it and say, “Thank You Jesus.”
