Teaching Series: UNDERSTANDING THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING

(Wednesday 15th December): Engaging the Power of Thanksgiving – Part 1

  • Thanksgiving is what we owe God, both as individuals and as a Church – Luk. 17:17-19/ 2 Thes. 2:13
  • It takes thanksgiving to provoke the stretching forth of the hand of God upon our lives – Psa. 100:4/ 2 Chr. 20:22-24
  • You cannot be grateful and not be joyful – Psa. 92:1
  • Remember, a man cannot receive anything except it be given him from above                          – Jhn 3:27
  • There is nothing we have that we have not received – 1 Cor. 4:7/ Psa. 103:1-5
  • We must continue to acknowledge God for His goodness and mercy to retain His blessings – Psa. 136:1-3/ 2 Chr. 20:21-22

But what are we thanking God for?

  • For all His benefits including forgiveness, healing, deliverance, continuous supplies and total wellbeing – Psa. 103:3-5/ Jn.10:10
  • For His wondrous works in our lives and triumph all through the year                                               – Psa. 78:40-72/ 2 Cor.2:14
  • For His abounding grace and continuous scaling of new heights – 1 Cor. 15:10-12/ Psa.68:19/ Psa. 92:1-2/13
  • For His faithfulness in our lives – Psa. 92:1-3/ Psa. 145:8-9
  • For blessings anticipated – Jhn. 6:6-11/ Jhn 11:41-44

(Wednesday 29th December): Engaging the Power of Thanksgiving – Part 2

  • We owe God thanks for every good thing He has done for us – Eph. 5:20/ Jam. 1:17
  • Because God is the hand behind all good happenings in our lives – Jhn 15:5/                               Psa. 118:23
  • A heart-seated gratitude is our covenant access to real joy – Mal. 2:2-3/ Luk. 10:21
  • Gratitude from the heart is what counts the most with God – Isa. 29:13/ 1 Sam. 16:7
  • God is the source of every increase we enjoy – 1 Cor. 4:7/ 2 Cor. 4:7

But what are we thanking God for?

  • For His wondrous works in our lives as we continue to count our blessings                                    – Psa. 78:40-72/ Psa. 103:1-3
  • For His good hand upon our lives all through the year Luk. 17:12-19
  • For rendering our enemies helpless – Psa. 138:1/7/ 2Chr. 20:20-24
  • In anticipation of perfection of all that concerns us – Psa. 138:8
  • To keep the anointing for conquest fresh on our lives – Psa. 89:20-22

Jesus is Lord!
