The plight our icon, professor wole soyinka, on the imminent US presidential election is really worth looking into. Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka says he will cut his green card and leave the United States if Donald Trump wins the presidential election. The republican candidate, Donald Trump, is a controversial candidate with unscrupulous attitudes to the people especially the fairer sex. He has been accused of many inhumane charges ranging from sexual assaults, unlawful business transactions, sex tape scandals and others. These seem to be a threat to his victory on the presidential race but Donald Trump seems to be unaffected and publicly denying all even when there are clear cut evidences and witnesses to his anti people act. The Republican nominee’s mischievous behavior toward women is really a menace to his success in the race for presidency.
7th of October was when his trouble resurfaced, following the release of a video by The Washington Post released a video in which Trump boasts of sexually assaulting women. This video caused a lot of hiccups which led to the denouncement and drop in support of some republicans .Also, in the second day of the presidential debate, Trump told Anderson Cooper that he had never sexually assaulted women. Trump is currently facing a civil lawsuit from a Jane Doe who claimed that Trump raped her in 1994, when she was 13 years old, at parties hosted by his friend, the convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. That lawsuit is scheduled to proceed in December. There are so many questionable stories about Trump which tend to make him unfit for the presidential seat. His personality has made the 2016 presidential election the most scandalous election because of the copious scandals surrounding him.
On the other side, the democratic nominee, Hilary Clinton has been so much favoured by the public opinion about Donald Trump. His mishaps have really feathered her presidential nest. Though seems controversial too but not as obvious as Trump because he has been legally charged and booked for several offenses. Just like the Nigeria 2015 presidential election, the US is about to make history as the female opposition seems to be more favoured and has an closer edge to victory as 70 Nobel laureates backed Hillary Clinton.
Also, Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka openly made a strong claim on victory in the presidential race saying Trump is likely to rebuke all green card holders.
